| Button | Action | Comments |
| These are essential | ||
| Save Section as pdf | Opens a standard view as a pdf file to save | Examples of each section provided |
| Download as KML or GPX | Opens the route as a file, in either of two common formats, for the user to save | Users can then import the file into the mapping app of their choice, eg Gaia, Google Earth, Ordnance Survey, Strava, Hiiker… |
| Using the map | Explain how to browse around map (legend, layers, share, full screen…) | For people not familiar with how Google MyMaps work |
| Nice to have | ||
| Change map type | Switch between Google Satellite & Plain, Ordnance Survey, OpenStreetMap. See www.walksinspain.org, ldwa.org.uk/ldp/members/show_path.php?path_name=Forth+to+Farne+Way | WalksInSpain method is technically tricky, but the code is freely available in GitHub |
