Junior Rangers
Junior Rangers is an environmental group for young people in East Lothian aged 11-18, running on every second Friday afternoon during term time. The focus of the group is conservation work, including practical habitat management, biological surveying and environmental interpretation. Junior Rangers is a nationwide network of Ranger-led conservation groups for young people which operates under the Scottish Countryside Ranger Association (SCRA) Junior Ranger Programme.
Participants have the opportunity to explore the East Lothian countryside, learn about the Countryside Ranger profession, assist the Rangers with public events and to connect up with other Junior Ranger participants across the county on Gathering days.
Junior Rangers can work towards receiving their John Muir Award, Volunteering section of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Satire Award and Junior Ranger Award.
